A Shaded Hike for Everyone
Mason Neck State Park is located is located on a peninsula formed by Pohick Bay, Belmont Bay and the Potomac River. It is considered to be one of the best locations to view bald eagles in Northern VA. This park also stands out as a leader in providing accessible trails for everyone.
Accessibility. The Friends of Mason Neck State Park’s Accessibility Project have documented four trails as accessible or partially accessible. Additionally, they are now offering All-Terrain Wheelchairs that can be reserved in advance. You can find details about these chairs here.
Hike Details. This hike is rated easy. It is approximately 1.0 mile and very little elevation. While this trail is not paved, it is listed as one of the partially accessible trails. Dogs are permitted on this trail on a leash.
Fees. Please note that there is a $10/car entrance fee for this state park. You can use an annual VA State Park pass. See all the fee details here.
As a reminder, this hike is part of our partnership with Pass to Pass and Inova Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Center, but all are welcome to join us. Because of their generous support, there is no fee to join any of our hikes. Please note that there is a fee to enter this park since this is a state park.
