Join us to explore one of Virginia’s most loved state parks: Sky Meadows
Sky Meadows State Park is a 1,900-acre park on the Eastern side of the Blue Ridge located near Paris, VA. This park has scenic views, woodlands, and the rolling pastures of a historic farm. Our hike will allow us to enjoy all of these features. The park is also designated as an International Dark Sky Park and holds monthly astronomy programs. In fact, the night before our hike (Saturday, June 13) will be the next Astronomy for Everyone event. You can check out all the details here.
Please note that there is an entrance fee for this park: $10/car.
This hike is rated moderate; 4.25 miles and 500+ feet of elevation. This loop hike travels through large open fields and dense forest with great views along the way. Dogs are welcome on this trail, but they must be on a leash.
While there is a parking lot that can accommodate plenty of cars, this is a very popular hike, and the lot often fills before 9am on weekends. For this reason, plus the cost of entering the park, we are organizing carpooling. When you sign up, please indicate if you are looking for a ride or if you are able to provide someone with a ride in your vehicle.
As a reminder, this hike is part of our partnership with Pass to Pass and Inova Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Center, but all are welcome to join us. Because of their generous support, there is no fee to join any of our hikes. Please note that there is a fee to enter this park since this is a state park.
