October Moderate Group Hike

  • AIM Human Performance 2218 Tacketts Mill Drive Lake Ridge United States (map)

A living laboratory and open-air museum in the backyard of our nation's capital.

Bull Run Mountains Natural Area Preserve occupies a series of rocky ridges and steep valleys on Virginia's northern piedmont. Straddling Fauquier and Prince William Counties, the preserve's 2486 acres are owned by the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, a state-supported organization dedicated to protecting open space across the Commonwealth. The Preserve contains 10 different plant community types and a plethora of regionally uncommon and threatened plant and animal species. In addition to the biodiversity, this land holding permanently protects dozens of regionally important cultural history sites that tell the story of the Preserve’s diversely peopled past.
